Swansea midfielder Jonathan de Guzman has been named in the Netherland's final squad for next week's friendly against Italy. Canadian-born De Guzman, who scored twice in Swansea's 3-1 recent win over Stoke City, was named in Louis van Gaal's provisional squad last week and today survived the cut as the coach trimmed his selection to 20 names. De Guzman has been eligible for selection by the Oranje since earning Dutch citizenship in 2008 but had been overlooked despite impressive spells at Feyenoord, Real Mallorca and Villarreal. Benfica winger Ola John and Ajax defender Daley Blind could join De Guzman in making their debuts at the Amsterdam ArenA on Wednesday after also earning places in the final squad. Khalid Boulahrouz, Ruben Schaken, Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Leroy Fer - whose proposed move to Everton from FC Twente collapsed this week owing to issues with his medical - have been dropped from the original 23-man squad, while Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar has been drafted in.
