Egypt was held to a 1-1 draw with New Zealand at Old Trafford Sunday. The Pharaohs missed a number of golden opportunities to win. Egypt was in behind on the 16th minute to a goal from Chris Wood. Egypt then pressured and Mohammed Salah managed to equalize towards the end of the first half. Egypt could have easily put five other goals past New Zealand, but their futility in front of goal meant they had to settle for a point. Egypt must now defeat Belarus on Wednesday to qualify for the quarter-finals, while minnows New Zealand will have to beat the Brazil, who have officially qualified for the last eight after earning six points, in order to progress from Group C.
