Club Brugge have signed former Barcelona and Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen from city rivals Cercle Brugge. The 34-year-old Iceland international has agreed an 18-month contract with Club Brugge and, subject to successfully passing his medical, will join up with his new team-mates tomorrow. Gudjohnsen, who also counts PSV Eindhoven, Monaco, Spurs and AEK Athens among some of his former clubs, said on Club Brugge's official website: "I am very pleased with my transfer to Club Brugge. I am honoured that they wanted me to join them and I look forward to helping the team compete for prizes. "I wish Cercle Brugge all the best for the remainder of this season." Gudjohnsen could make his Club Brugge debut next Sunday - against his former club Cercle. Club Brugge are fourth in the Jupiler Pro League standings on 39 points, 13 behind leaders Anderlecht and 25 clear or rock-bottom Cercle. From : Fifa
