Levski Sofia head coach Nikolay Kostov announced his resignation today, citing his team's poor performances in the Bulgarian league. "Levski have not performed in line with my expectations and the team's results have not met the targets I set when I first took over as coach," Kostov said in a statement. "That is why I have taken a decision to quit as Levski head coach." Levski's management have not yet commented on the resignation or announced a successor to Kostov, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the season. Levski Sofia are currently third in the Bulgarian league table below arch rivals CSKA Sofia and surprise front-runners Ludogorets Razgrad. The team suffered a shock 1-0 home loss against lowly Mineur Pernik yesterday that enraged fans.
