First lady Michelle Obama, on a short trip to London that includes the Olympic opening ceremony, met Friday with members of the U.S. team. In a speech during a team breakfast, Obama reminisced about watching the Olympics as a child in Chicago. She described how her father, a former athlete crippled by multiple sclerosis, enjoyed the games. Obama also spoke of the role the U.S. Olympic Committee and Olympic athletes are playing in her Let's Move campaign to combat childhood obesity. Saturday has been declared Let's Move Olympic Fun Day in the United States. "So as you all compete here, think of your fellow competitors back home, all those young kids who are going to be thinking of the visions they see of you as they go spike a ball or put their toe in that first water," she said. "They're going to look at you and then they're going to try something -- right? Then they're going to get a little afraid, they're going to come back, they're going to watch you, and then they're going to try a little bit more. Right? That's what we're hoping to see." Obama is to be in London for three days, The New York Times said. Her schedule Friday also includes a reception hosted by Queen Elizabeth II.
