His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah has pledged an increase in the financial allocations of Ittihad Kalba Football Club as a reward for promotion to the Professional League. In a telephone call made to the live radio programme "Al Bath Al Mubashir" today, Sheikh Sultan said he was dismayed that the Sharjah Sport Council failed to pay any attention to Ittihad Kalba's achievement of securing promotion to the UAE Professional League this season, promising to raise the Club's allocations to AED 25 million. Sheikh Sultan also expressed regret at the unsportman-like conduct of Al Wasl player during yesterday's match with Bahrain's Al Muharraq Club. "We hope that the management of Al Wasl Club will shoulder their duty of apologising to others. I, myself, am a big fan of Al Wasl, but I felt very bad when that incident happened." Sheikh Sultan also talked about the need to provide a safe and secure environment to citizens at their homes and their work places in the emirate. He said that he issued directives to the Commander General of Sharjah Police Major General Humaid Al Hadidi to increase police patrols in Sharjah's Al Mansoura area in order to protect people.
