Journeyman French striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle has signed a two-year deal with Rostov, the Russian Premier League club announced on their website on Wednesday. "I consider this move to Russia a new challenge in my career," said the 27-year-old former France under-21 international attacker. Sinama-Pongolle, whose wife is Russian, spent last season on loan in his homeland with Saint-Etienne from Sporting Lisbon. He began his career with Le Havre, before spells with Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers, Recreativo Huelva, Atletico Madrid and Zaragoza. Rostov currently lie fourth from bottom of the Russian top flight after seven matches. FIFA
