Slovenia manager Slavisa Stojanovic was sacked on Sunday after a disappointing start to the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign, the Slovenian football association (NZS) announced. Slovenia are lying fifth in Group E with only three points behind leaders Switzerland on ten. Stojanovic told the NZS's official website: "The World Cup qualification did not start as expected. As a selector I am sorry that some of the circumstances really were not of assistance and I feel responsible for the present results.I am certain that Slovenia is on the right way to having a very successful team."
