Gregory Garza Early struck late as Tijuana snatched the initiative in their Apertura quarter-final against Monterey on Thursday. Substitute Garza Early popped up with the only goal in the 86th minute as Tijuana take a narrow lead into the second leg at home this weekend. There was also an away win for Toluca, who beat Guadalajara 2-1. The visitors took control of the match midway through the first half as Antonio Rios opened the scoring in the 24th minute and Antonio Naelson added a second moments later.
