Bayer Leverkusen director of sport Rudi Voller claims striker Stefan Kiessling deserves a Germany recall. The 28-year-old has played six times for the national team, but has not figured since the 2010 FIFA World Cup Brazil™. He has scored four goals in the Bundesliga this season and Voller thinks Germany coach Joachim Low is not going to be able to leave him out for much longer. "If Stefan carries on performing the way he is, then it is going to be harder and harder for Joachim Low to leave him out," Voller told Bild. "Stefan's aim has got to be the World Cup in 2014." Low favours only one striker in his 4-5-1 formation and he only currently has Miroslav Klose and Lukas Podolski in his squad, although the Arsenal player is used predominantly in a wide left position. With Mario Gomez out injured, there is therefore no cover for Lazio forward Klose as Kiessling's former Nurnberg team-mate Cacau continues to be overlooked. Instead, Low has favoured Dortmund's attacking midfielder Marco Reus as an emergency striker, but Voller says Kiessling should not give up hope of making a return. "He is still too young to end his international career," said the former Germany coach. FIFA
