Wales wing Alex Cuthbert has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a hamstring tear suffered in Saturday's Six Nations title-clinching win over England at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. Cuthbert, whose two second-half tries proved decisive as Wales thrashed England by a record-breaking 30-3 to deny their arch-rivals a Grand Slam, is now set to miss at least four of Cardiff Blues' five remaining Celtic League games. If, however, the injury takes six weeks to heal, he will also be sidelined for their final match against Ulster on May 3. "Alex suffered a grade two hamstring strain in the first 30 minutes of the match against England. He is expected to be out for between four to six weeks," said a statement released by the Blues. Cuthbert's performance against England cemented his standing as a contender for a place in the British and Irish Lions squad, due to be announced late next month, for the tour of Australia. Although he should recover in time for the Test matches, his injury could leave Cuthbert lacking match fitness ahead of the tour opener against the Barbarians in Hong Kong on June 1. Source: AFP
