Kuwaiti emir congratulates UAE on Asian Cup 2019 bid win

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Wednesday sent a congratulatory cable to the UAE's President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed on his country's recent win of the bid to host the 17th Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup in 2019.
In the cable, His Highness the Amir said that choosing the UAE to host this event embodies its prestigious sports position at both Asian and world levels, and reflects its huge potentials like developed infrastructure and modern sports facilities.
His Highness the Amir stressed that this move is a source of pride for all the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and Arab countries, wishing Sheikh Khalifa good health and his country further progress and prosperity.
His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah sent similar cables to Sheikh Khalifa.
