Lekhwiya’s latest signing Mourad Meghni will not play on Saturday’s second round Qatar League tie against Al Jaish. Both teams come into their second round match having beating their opponents by two goals last week. The 28-year-old Algerian, who joined the club in the summer of 2012, has not fully recovered from his recent injury, Lekhwiya's Algerian coach Djamel Belmadi said on Wednesday in a press statement in Doha. "In spite of resuming training normally he is not ready yet to play in league matches," Belmadi confirmed, adding he considers it "risky to push his player early to play and especially in a match against Al Jaish.” Injuries have prevented Meghni, described by some as Zidane’s successor, from reaching his true potential, according to the coach. Meghni moved to Lekhwiya from Umm Salal, bringing with him a wealth of experience from the European leagues and the Algerian national team. He played in the Algerian team in the African Cup of Nations 2010 in Angola, but injury forced him to miss the World Cup in South Africa.
