Miguel Montero came through with a tiebreaking, two-run double in the eighth inning Friday that boosted Arizona to a 6-4 decision over Kansas City. Kansas City let an early 3-1 lead slip away, then came back to tie it in the seventh before the Diamondbacks produced three straight hits to open the eighth. Willie Bloomquist started the inning with a single off Kelvin Herrera (0-1) and Justin Upton followed with a base hit that sent Bloomquist to third. Tim Collins relieved Herrera and was greeted by Montero's double to deep left that brought home both runners. Montero's key hit made a winner out of Brad Ziegler (3-1), who gave up a run in the seventh in his only inning of relief. After Arizona took the lead, Craig Breslow worked a 1-2-3 bottom of the eighth and J.J. Putz survived a ninth-inning walk to earn his seventh save.
