Pedro Ciriaco's run-scoring triple in the ninth inning put Boston ahead Saturday and the Red Sox held on to outlast the New York Yankees 8-6. The Red Sox led 6-1 after 4 1/2 innings but the Yankees chipped away at the lead until Mark Teixeira unleashed a two-run homer in the eighth to tie it. Boston, however, came right back in the next half-inning when Jacoby Ellsbury coaxed a one-out walk from New York closer Rafael Soriano (2-1). Ciriaco followed by lining a shot that Yankees center fielder Curtis Granderson misjudged -- the ball went over his head and to the wall for a triple, giving Boston a 7-6 lead. Ciriaco came home on Dustin Pedroia's sacrifice fly and Alfredo Aceves notched his 22nd save for Boston, which evened its three-game series and broke a three-game skid against New York. Adrian Gonzalez went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and Andrew Miller (3-1) picked up the win in a game that started nearly 2 hours late because of rain. Jayson Nix and Chris Stewart each went deep for the American League East-leading Yankees.
