Mark Trumbo's leadoff homer in the bottom of the ninth Monday gave the Los Angeles Angels their seventh straight win, a 9-8 victory over the New York Yankees. Trumbo greeted New York reliever Cory Wade (0-1) with a towering fly ball that stayed just inside the left field foul pole for the walk-off game-winner. Trumbo also doubled and tripled, driving a pair of run and scoring three times, while Kendrys Morales and Howard Kendrick each drove in three runs for the Angels, who took the opener of a three-game series at Angels Stadium. Jordan Walden (2-1) collected the victory with two scoreless innings of relief. Angels starter Jered Weaver exited the game in the first inning with a lower back injury after allowing three unearned runs. Bobby Cassevah came on in relief and went 3 1/3 innings, allowing one run on one hit -- a solo home run by Curtis Granderson -- with three walks and two strikeouts. New York's Russell Martin forged an 8-8 tie in the seventh with a two-run double, and Mark Teixeira had a solo homer for the Yankees, who had won five straight coming into the game.
