Pinch-hitter Mark Kotsay decided Tuesday's pitchers' duel with a two-run homer in the eighth inning that gave the San Diego Padres a 2-0 win over Milwaukee. Kotsay leaned into a 1-1 fastball from Francisco Rodriguez (0-3) after Will Venable singled, and cleared the right-field fence. Rodriguez had come on in relief of Shaun Marcum, who had limited the Padres to three hits and struck out six over seven innings. Andrew Cashner (2-1) picked up the win in relief of Edinson Volquez, who limited Milwaukee to three hits over seven innings and notched four strikeouts. Huston Street struck out the final two batters for his fourth save.
