Roy Oswalt went 6 1/3 strong innings Tuesday and the Texas Rangers trounced Oakland 6-1. Oswalt (3-1) held the A's to one run on three hits and struck out six to lead the Rangers to their fifth win in their last six tries. Josh Hamilton and Adrian Beltre cracked solo home runs for Texas and Craig Gentry went 2-for-3 with an RBI single. Bartolo Colon (6-8) took the loss for the A's, who had been looking to make up some ground against the American League West leaders. Colon, who came into the game with a 13-1 record in his last 15 starts against Texas, gave up four runs on eight hits over seven innings. Josh Reddick drove in Oakland's only run with a leadoff home run in the seventh inning.
