Greivis Vasquez gave New Orleans a three-point lead with 18 seconds left Wednesday and the Hornets survived a last-second miss to defeat Orlando 97-94. New Orleans ended an 11-game losing streak and avoided tying the longest skid in franchise history. The Hornets lost 12 straight during the 1989-90 season. Robin Lopez scored 29 points for New Orleans, one away from his career best, while hitting 9-of-10 from the field. Vasquez had 27 points, the most he has ever produced in an NBA game, and his two free throws in the dying seconds accounted for the final score. A 3-point attempt by the Magic's Nikola Vucevic failed to go with 3 seconds remaining. Rookie Anthony Davis added 12 points and 11 rebounds for New Orleans, which has won a Western Conference-low six games this season. The Hornets hit 50 percent from the field and missed just one of their 20 attempts from the foul line. Orlando was led by Jameer Nelson with 28 points and 10 assists.
