Trey McKinney-Jones led four players in double figures with 18 points Wednesday, sending Miami (Fla.) to a surprising 67-59 win over No. 14 Michigan State. The Hurricanes built a 12-point lead down the stretch in a decisive win that saw Miami hold the Spartans to 40 percent shooting. Miami ran off nine straight points early in the second half to take a 41-33 advantage. Michigan State (5-2) had won five games since a season-opening loss to Connecticut in Germany. Miami advanced to 4-1 with both Durand Scott and Shane Larkin scoring 15 points. Miami made 16-of-18 from the foul line and the Spartans hit only 5-of-11. Keith Appling scored 15 points to pace Michigan State, but he made a mere 6-of-13 from the field.
