An interception by Desmond Trufant at his own 8-yard line with 1:52 remaining Thursday secured Washington's 17-13 upset of No. 8 Stanford. The Huskies rallied on two big touchdown plays in the final 16 minutes and pulled off a huge surprise in their opening Pac-12 Conference game of the season. Stanford (3-1, 1-1 Pac-12) took a 13-3 lead late in the third period when Trent Murphy intercepted a pass and ran it 40 yards for a touchdown. Washington, however, then put together an 81-yard drive with Bishop Sankey running for a 61-yard score that lifted Washington (3-1) back in the game. The winning touchdown came on a 35-yard pass from Keith Price to Kasen Williams with 4:53 to play. Stanford then moved to the Washington 34-yard line and faced a 4th-and-4 situation. Quarterback Josh Nunes lobbed a pass down the right sideline intended for Levine Toilolo, but Trufant picked it off to wipe out Stanford's hopes of a comeback. Price was 19-of-37 for 177 yards while Sankey rushed for 144 yards on 20 carries. Nunes completed 18-of-37 passes for 170 yards, but Stanford did not score an offensive touchdown and managed only 231 total yards. The Cardinal had picked up 423 yards 12 days earlier in their upset of USC.
