University of Missouri basketball guard Michael Dixon Jr. announced his transfer from the school amid rape allegations. Dave Reiter, director of strategic communications for the basketball team, sent an email Thursday containing a message from Dixon, who was suspended from the team Oct. 26, after it emerged he was being accused of raping a woman Aug. 20, the Columbia Missourian reported Friday. "It's been a challenging few months and while I appreciate the support of many in the Mizzou community, including my coaches and teammates, it's in the best interest of me, my family and the University of Missouri for me to finish my career elsewhere," the email quoted Dixon as saying. Dixon sent an email to a friend earlier in the day revealing his decision to leave was influenced by the emergence of rape allegations from Jan. 11, 2010. "Yea I'm done here bro I'm not gonna be here anymore another girl my freshman year pulled this ... on me now it's coming out and everyone is gonna think it's real so I'm thru bro I appreciate you tho just let as many (people) as u can know," the email read.
