A suicide blast in southeastern Russia Monday killed four people and injured three others, officials said. The bomb when off in Chechnya's capital Grozny, near a police checkpoint in the Oktyabrsky District of the city, RIA Novosti reported. "As a result of trauma from explosive fragments, two officers, one soldier ... and a civilian died," in the blast said Vasily Panchenkov, a spokesman for the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service. It was reported earlier that three people died in a mine blast; however, investigators said they found fragments from a suicide bomb belt on the scene.
