England captain Alastair Cook won the toss and elected to bat in the fifth and deciding day/night one-day international against Sri Lanka at Edgbaston on Tuesday.
Both teams were unchanged from those that played in Sri Lanka's thrilling seven-run win at Lord's on Saturday where the tourists, on the back of a century from Kumar Sangakkara to which England's Jos Buttler responded with a dynamic 121, levelled the five-match series at 2-2.
And that meant Sri Lanka included Sachitra Senanayake even though the off-spinner was reported for having a suspect action by the umpires and match referee following the Lord's match.
Under the International Cricket Council protocol Senanayake, 29, is required to undergo testing within three weeks to calculate whether the bend in his elbow exceeds the permitted 15 degrees.
However, he was still eligible to play and on Tuesday was given the chance to add to a tally of eight wickets in the four games thus far where he has maintained an economy rate of 3.82 runs per over.
