Paulo scored on a penalty kick in the 13th minute Wednesday and the goal held up to give Real Salt Lake a 1-0 victory over Montreal. Salt Lake won its second in a row and has captured four of its five outings this season to move three points in front of San Jose for first place in the Western Conference. Montreal has managed only one point in its five games and is still searching for its first win in its expansion year. The penalty kick came after Justin Braun was called for a hand ball in the box on a corner kick.
