France's Florent Manaudou won the men's 50m butterfly title at the world swimming championships on Monday to claim his second gold in Kazan.
Manaudou, the Olympic 50m freestyle champion, touched the wall at 22.97secs with Nicholas Santos of Brazil winning silver at 0.12secs back with Hungary's Laszlo Cseh taking bronze at 0.18secs.
"I am pretty happy. It was my first individual world title, but my biggest target is Saturday (the 50m freestyle final)," said the Frenchman.
"It was not as quick as my semi-final time, but I knew I had a bit of a gap.
"I touched first, that's superb. I knew Santos would be close.
"It's a good thing to have a gold medal from yesterday and today."
The 24-year-old younger brother of Laure Manaudou, the 2004 Olympic 400m freestyle champion, he is now focused on Friday's 50m freestyle heats where Brazil's Cesar Cielo is the reigning champion.
The Frenchman is hoping to win a third worlds gold in Kazan having been part of France's 4x100m freeestyle squad on Sunday which retained their world title.
