The German team at the Winter Olympics in Sochi has been informed by the IOC that a doping test of one of its athletes has produced an abnormal result, it said Friday. The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) said that it had been informed by the International Olympic Committee that the "'A' sample of a member of the German Olympic team produced a result that diverged from the norm." The 'B' sample is to be tested on Friday while a session of the IOC's disciplinary commission will also take place over the issue, the DOSB said in a statement on its website. The German team did not specify if the athlete is suspected of doping. If so, it would be the first case to be uncovered during the Sochi Games. There were no details on the name or sport of the athlete, or whether the test had been carried out at the Games or before. Source: AFP
