Nathan Cleverly is being lined up to bring professional boxing back to the Royal Albert Hall after a comfortable third title defence. The WBO world light-heavyweight champ won every round in a unanimous points win over Yank Tommy Karpency in Cardiff on Saturday. And he is now set for another defence before a summer showdown with a rival world champion. Promoter Frank Warren wants Cleverly to headline the first professional show at the Royal Albert Hall in 13 years on April 28 before facing the winner of the clash between Bernard Hopkins and Chad Dawson in Cardiff this summer. The Welshman is looking forward to boxing at the famous old London venue which last hosted professional boxing when Julius Francis defended his British heavyweight title against Danny Williams. And Cleverly hopes 47-year-old Hopkins beats fellow Yank Dawson for the WBC title to set up a unification crunch with him. He said: "It would be great to box at such an historic venue like the Albert Hall and gain some more experience before a unification fight. "It wasn't a brutal fight against Karpency, so I would be fine for April. I will be ready for the unification fight come the summer. "Hopkins would be my preference for this summer because he's a legend and an icon."
