Erik Karlsson provided a goal and assist Saturday and the Ottawa Senators opened the shortened NHL season with a 4-1 win over Winnipeg. Kyle Turris, Chris Neil and Milan Michalek also scored for the Senators, who are coming off a 92-point season and a first-round playoff loss to the New York Rangers in 2011-12. Craig Anderson was solid in net for the Senators, stopping 27 shots. Dustin Byfuglien scored in the first period to supply Winnipeg's only goal.
