Norway enjoyed a home victory in a mixed ski jumping event making its World Cup debut in the season opener in Lillehammer on Friday. The Norwegian team of Maren Lundby, Tom Hilde, Anette Sagen and Anders Bardal, garnered 983.1 points, heading Japan (966) and Italy (899). Austria, who were favourites to win, were disqualified after the first round of jumps because Andreas Kofler’s suit was ruled too wide in violation of regulations. Men’s and women’s World Cup jumps are scheduled in Lillehammer on Saturday.
