Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson suffered a broken left arm Tuesday in a one-car crash after being distracted by a slice of pizza falling off the front passenger seat. Police said alcohol was not a factor in the early morning accident in which Burleson's car struck the center wall on Interstate 696. That took place as the 32-year-old was driving home after watching an NFL game Monday night with friends. While the Lions confirmed the basic details of the crash, it was the Detroit Free Press that reported state police said it was pizza that fell off the seat to distract Burleson while ESPN confirmed which arm had suffered the injury, which will require surgery. Burleson has 19 catches for 239 yards in three games, including six receptions for 116 yards in Detroit's 27-20 victory last Sunday at Washington. Last season, he played only six games after suffering a broken leg in October. Ryan Broyles is expected to replace Burleson in the Lions lineup. He has three catches for 34 yards this season and is recovering from his second torn anterior cruciate knee ligament in two years. Source: AFP
