Houston Rockets Coach Kevin McHale has left the team to attend to a personal family matter, the NBA club said Saturday. McHale will be on a leave of absence for an unspecified length of time to deal with the situation, a statement issued by Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey said. In his stead, assistant Coach Kelvin Sampson will take over the team's coaching duties. "Kevin is a devoted family man who is needed back home in Minnesota at the moment," Morey said. "The Rockets organization will keep Kevin and his family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."
