The Colorado Rockies placed shortstop Troy Tulowitzki on the disabled list Thursday with a strained left groin. Tulowitzki suffered the muscle strain Wednesday while running out a grounder in the sixth inning of Colorado's 13-5 win over Houston. He has hit .287 with eight home runs and 27 RBI in 47 games this season. Tulowitzki missed 19 games last season and 40 in 2010. Colorado activated infielder Chris Nelson from the 15-day disabled list to take Tulowitzki's place on the roster. Nelson had been out of action with inflammation in his left wrist. The Rockies went into Thursday's game against the Astros having won three in a row.
