The young midfielder reckons that the Blues' performances against Pep Guardiola's side three years ago demonstrated they are more than capable of securing a final berth.Oriol Romeu has voiced his opinion that Chelsea have what it takes to overcome Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final, claiming they already proved their credentials against the Spaniards. The Blues infamously crashed out at the same hurdle in 2009 to a last-gasp Andres Iniesta goal at Stamford Bridge, but their Catalan midfielder believes they can go one better this time around."They demonstrated in 2009 that they can beat Barcelona," Romeu told Spanish news agency Efe."I am fortunate to be in this position, but a Champions League semi-final is always special for any player, and even more so against a team like Barcelona."They have been at a spectacular level for many years," he continued. "They do not lose ambition, nor the will to win, but we can beat them."Romeu joined Chelsea last summer, but despite being a trusted disciple under former coach Andre Villas-Boas, he has found game time under current incumbent Roberto Di Matteo harder to come by.However, the 20-year-old insists he arrived in London with the aim of furthering his development rather than featuring in important matches for the club, and says he will happily wait for his chance in the first team."I signed for Chelsea to improve and grow as a player and that's what I wanted - not necessarily to be in a Champions League semi-final, but to play games. I want to go slowly," he stated."Now I'm playing a bit less, but I feel very comfortable and training is good. I think I will play well when I get given a chance, and that is important - being satisfied with yourself and waiting patiently for your opportunity."
