Czech skier Sarka Zahrobska, the 2007 slalom world champion, has had a benign brain tumour removed from under her brain, her agents said on Thursday. The operation at a Prague hospital on Wednesday had been planned for several days, said the Ceska sportovni agency. Czech media reported earlier that 27-year-old Zahrobska, who won bronze in slalom at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, had spent a week in an artificial coma prior to surgery, after experiencing acute neurological problems. “Sarka felt well the evening after the surgery, she was fully conscious and she could communicate,” the agency said in a statement.“Any forecasts about her return to active training are premature, but it is also premature to revise the schedule of the autumn training camps.” Zahrobska, who has the complete medal set in slalom from the World Championships of 2005 to 2009, hired Austrian coach Klaus Mayrhofer earlier this year in a bid to end a bad spell lasting two seasons. from gulfnews.com
