North Korean teenager Kim Kuk-hyang made history on Thursday with her country's first diving gold medal at the world championships with a shock victory in the women's 10m platform final.
The 16-year-old produced a stunning final dive to take the title with 397.05 points leaving 14-year-old Chinese diver Ren Qian to take silver with 388pts.
Malaysia's Pamg Pandelela Rinong Anak finished with 385.05 to claim bronze.
China's Si Yajie, the defending champion, finished fourth after a poor final dive cost her another medal after she won gold in the mixed 10m platform final last Saturday.
Kim's victory means China's stranglehold on major diving competitions seems to be weakening, although they have still claimed golds in six of the nine events so far in Kazan with four finals still to come.
