Former NBA player Samaki Walker is in an Arizona jail after being pulled over and allegedly found with marijuana and steroids, police said. Samaki Walker was arrested Thursday night in Kingman and charged with possessing marijuana, drug paraphernalia and drugs without prescriptions, authorities told the Kingman Daily Miner. Eight bottles of liquid steroids and prescription drugs also were found, police said, and Walker said the steroids were legal in Syria, where plays for the al-Jalaa team of Aleppo. A star at the University of Louisville, Walker was drafted into the NBA in 1996 by the Dallas Mavericks. He also played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami, Washington, Indiana and San Antonio before leaving the league in 2006. He then played in Russia, China and South Korea before going to Syria. Walker, of Woodland Hills, Calif., was in the Mohave County Jail. His bond was set at $2,000, and a hearing was set for this Friday.
