Members of a minor-league baseball team affiliated with the Philadelphia Phillies suffered minor injuries in a bus accident, New York authorities said. Two players and a coach for the Class A Williamsport Crosscutters were taken to hospital for treatment then released following the Tuesday night accident on Staten Island, the New York Post reported. The accident happened after the Crosscutters beat the Brooklyn Cyclones, 7-2, in a game on Coney Island. The accident was "pretty harrowing," Gabe Sinicropi, the team's vice president for marketing and public relations, said. "We're just thankful that it wasn't any more serious," he said. "It definitely was inches away from being a lot worse." Based in Williamsport, the Crosscutters play in the short-season New York-Penn League, the Post reported.
