
The AFC U-16 Championship India 2016 kicks off tomorrow (15 September to 2 October) in Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa.
Teams from 16 nations, including India, have descended on the party capital of the country to vie for the prestigious title which functions as a qualifier for the FIFA U-17 World Cup next year to be held in Delhi.
While the 16 participating teams were divided into four groups, it was also announced that the matches will be held at Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda and Bambolim Stadium. There will also be six other training sites which will be used during the course of the tournament.
Group A: India (hosts), UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iran. Group B: Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, Japan, Australia. Group C: Iraq, Oman, Malaysia, Korea Republic Group D: Yemen, Thailand, Uzbekistan, DPR Korea.
