Egyptian champions Ahly will be without their Brazilian striker Fabio Junior for the match with Stade Malien on 29 April due to an injury he sustained against Meqassa in a friendly Sunday. “The player has a cut on his thigh muscle and will be out for almost a month,” Ahly’s Dr Ehab Ali was quoted as saying on the club’s official website. The Reds' Portuguese coach Manuel Jose will have to do without the talented forward in both legs against Stade Malien in the African Champions League quarterfinal. Ahly won Meqassa 3-0 scored by midfielder Walid Soliman, who netted twice, and striker Dominic da Silva. Jose will also miss injured midfielder Abdullah El-Said, while Hossam Ashour is doubtful after sustaining an injury. Ahly, which qualified after defeating Ethiopian Coffee 3-0, will be hosted next Sunday by the Malian side which smashed Tonnerre of Benin 5-2 on aggregate in the previous round.
