UAE international Walid Abbas will remain with Al Shabab after the Dubai-based club renewed his contract until 2015. The 27-year-old still had a year left on his contract but Al Shabab moved swiftly to tie up the defender’s future with the club, Saeed Al Marri, the CEO of the club confirmed. Al Shabab handed Abbas a three-year contract from next season which will keep him there until 2015. Abbas returned from his vacation and met with the club management and agreed on the renewal. City rivals Al Ahli had shown interest in the defender with their Spanish coach Quique Sanchez Flores recommending that they sign him. Al Shabab have signed a foreigner in Brazilian Edgar Bruno da Silva and are waiting to hear from another Brazilian Luiz Henrique Alves. The midfielder, who currently plays for Jeonbuk Hyunda Motors in the K-League, postponed his trip to Dubai for negotiations with the club. Al Shabab have a new coach in Brazilian Marcos Paqueta following the departure of Paulo Bonamigo to President’s Cup champions Al Jazira. Al Shabab will hold their pre-season training camp in Germany from August 21.from khaleej times.
