The General Assembly of the Qatar Handball Association (QHA) reelected Mr. Ahmad Mohammad Al-Sheabi as President for the Association until 2016. Additionally, Mohammad Jaber Al-Mullah was reelected as Secretary General while Khalifa Taysir Al-Jassim, Hilal Al-Anzi and Hamad Mesfer Al-Nuaimi were reelected as Board Members. The General Assembly meeting was held on Monday at the headquarters of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) with attendance of representatives of the QOC and Qatari Sports clubs. The newly elected president of the QHA said that the association has accomplished many achievements in 2012 as the Qatari senior team qualified to the World Men’s Handball Championship to be held in Spain in 2013 after occupying the second place at the 15th Asian Handball championship held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from January 26 to February 05, 2012. Qatar also qualified to the World Men’s Youth and World Men’s Juniors Handball Championships and claimed the gold medal of Men’s Beach Handball Competition at the Asian Beach Games held in China in June 2012. Mr. Ahmad Al-Sheabi stressed that the QHA will put the development of Qatari coaches, referees and players at the top of its priorities.
