Fiorentina's Alberto Aquilani has been ruled out for two weeks with an Achilles injury. The former Liverpool midfielder has been restricted to two substitute appearances since joining the club as a result of the niggling injury, but had been in line to start this weekend's Serie A match against Catania. But Fiorentina confirmed the problem that has disrupted the start of Aquilani's season will require more time to heal. "ACF Fiorentina announces that Alberto Aquilani was visited today in London by Prof. Nicola Maffulli regarding his Achilles tendinopathy," read a statement on the club's website. "The specialist found no significant changes, but suggested, however, treatment for another two weeks." From : Fifa
