Oakland Athletics third baseman Brandon Inge has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right shoulder, the team said Tuesday. The move was made retroactive to Sunday. Inge is only hitting .224 in 73 games for Oakland, but has hit safely in 18 of his last 20 games and has 11 homers. He also played for Detroit earlier in the season. The Athletic recalled infielder Josh Donaldson from Class AAA Sacramento to fill Inge's spot on the roster. Donaldson has hit .153 in 28 major league games this season.
