Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, hosted a screening of the 2012 Formula One United States Grand Prix on Sunday (November 18) for members of the media. Bahrain-based journalists and photographers, plus BIC Media Club members, were all present at the event, which was held at Motorox Café along Budaiya Highway. The screening was organised by BIC’s Media and Public Relations Department, with the aim of strengthening relations with Bahrain’s media and further developing an already lively motorsport culture in the Kingdom. Those on hand enjoyed an exciting inaugural race at the brand new Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas. McLaren-Mercedes ace Lewis Hamilton triumphed. He was joined on the podium by runner-up Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing and third-placer Fernando Alonso of Ferrari. At the end of the screening, all those present were treated to a raffle draw for a chance to win valuable prizes courtesy of BIC. The prizes included vouchers for arrive-and-drive sessions at BIC’s world-class VIVA Karting Track, exclusive passenger rides at BIC and gift vouchers that can be used to purchase official Formula One merchandise at the BIC Welcome Centre in Sakhir. BIC Media and Public Relations Executive Mohamed Shareeda facilitated the draw. Amongst those who came away with prizes were Gerald Zak, Aymen Ali, Ahmed Suhail, Jassim Malik, Ameer Samsun, Hamed Al Mahari, Mohammed Fakhruddin, Ali Dadi, Salman Madhi and Ebrahim Sinan. Shareeda thanked all the media who attended. He also informed them that the next media screening will be of the Formula One Grande Premio Petrobras Do Brasil 2012 on November 25.
