Marco Borriello is hoping to show off his true potential at Juventus after a disappointing spell at Roma. The Italy striker, 29, joined the Turin giants on a five-month loan deal from Roma this week. Juventus have an option to make Borriello's stay permanent in the summer provided they pay €8m to Roma. Borriello, who made just seven league appearances for Roma this season, said today: "I want to pick myself up, to put myself in the spotlight. I have five months to convince the club to sign me and the fans to cheer for me. "There is everything that I need to do well. I'm happy to be at Juventus. It's an honour that the club has given me this opportunity." Borriello is aware he will face fierce competition for playing time at Juve with Italy internationals Alessandro Matri and Fabio Quagliarella ahead of him in the pecking order. "It's true that there is a lot of competition," he said. "The important thing is that we do well for Juventus. Nobody has promised me anything here and I'll have to fight for everything." The former Genoa star scored a total of 17 goals for Roma last season but lost his starting place after the arrival of coach Luis Enrique to the Eternal City in the summer. "At Roma I scored 17 goals, but then the club and the coach who wanted me were not there anymore," he said. "New directors and a new coach arrived and I wasn't in their plans and that's why I didn't play." With Quagliarella sidelined until the end of the month with a fractured cheekbone, the 29-year-old could make his debut for Juve in Sunday's home game against Cagliari.
