A CAF delegation headed by CAF President Issa Hayatou has arrived in Libreville (Gabon) to inspect facilities for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. The delegation which also include CAF Executive Committee members visited Libreville and Franceville to acquaint themselves with the level of preparations in the areas of Accommodation, Transportation, Communication amongst others in the two cities regarding the hosting of next year’s tournament.The inspection in Gabon started on the 23rd of october and ended on 26 october. As part of preparations, a seminar was held for volunteers and the local media in Libreville last Monday that discussed Accreditation and other media related activities regarding the competition. The CAF delegation later paid a courtesy call on Gabonese Prime Minister Paul Biyoghé Mba, who pledged commitment to ensure a successful hosting of the continental flagship event. From Gabon, the next step for the Inspection team will be in Equatorial Guinea. . The CAF delegation will visit Malabo and Bata, the two designated cities for the tournament. A similar seminar will be held for the volunteers and media in Equatorial Guinea. On Friday, October 28, there will be a press conference in Malabo at 15h00 local time, to herald the official draw of the competition which takes place 24-hours later. In attendance at the Press Conference will be CAF President Hayatou and representatives of the Local Organising Committees of Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. The final tournament will be held from 21 January to 12 February, 2012 in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
