The fifth edition of the FIFA / CIES Programme in sport management began on 29 August in the halls of the Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University. For the first time, courses will be taught in both English and Arabic in two separate classes to ensure optimal learning. Prof. Dr Said Daw, who is the new Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, welcomed the new class which includes more than thirty students from Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, India, Sudan and Zimbabwe. Prof. Dr Said Daw, who is a former Olympic athlete in diving, stressed the importance to link Egyptian sports with the business world, following the basic principles of ethics and good governance. Safia Abdel Dayem and Karim Fathi, two former students of the previous edition, then shared their experiences of the FIFA Programme and the positive results of the course on their personal and professional development.
