Clermont lock Jamie Cudmore has been banned for 20 days for punching during a Top 14 match against Stade Francais. The Canadian, who played for his country at this year's Rugby World Cup but who enjoys an unenviable record with the disciplinary committee of the National Rugby League, will miss the second round of European Cup action and two Top 14 games. Cudmore had been shown a yellow card by Irish referee George Clancy for having shoved Stade scrum-half Jerome Fillol in the face six minutes from the end of the game the Parisian club won 37-16. Racing-Metro flanker Jacque Cronje also picked up a 20-day ban for stamping in a Top 14 match against Toulon.
