Manchester City midfield duo David Silva and James Milner say they are confident of getting a positive result when they take on German giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.City have enjoyed a blistering start to the Premier League season but have been handed a tough group on their debut in Europe’s elite club competition, having been drawn against Bayern, Villarreal and Napoli.A 1-1 draw with the Italians at the Etihad Stadium a fortnight ago was not the ideal start for Mancini’s men, but Silva is confident City can make up for the setback by beating Bayern, who themselves are unbeaten at the top of the Bundesliga, as long as they maintain possession.“Against Bayern we will try to keep the ball, play with the same style and get a positive result,” the Spaniard told reporters.“We believe in what we are doing and have confidence in each other so we will keep doing the same things.”Milner is wary of Bayern’s good form, but says he is confident in the ability of his own team and does not feel a lack of Champions League experience will be an issue.“We know it will be tough,” he said. “Bayern seem to be playing with confidence but we can beat anyone on our day. We just need to have the confidence to do what we have been doing and get a good result.“The majority of our players have played in the Champions League before; the only new experience is doing it together.”
